The ALLIANCE was formed in 2006 by third sector organisations who came together to strengthen their voice on issues of common concern.
Since then the ALLIANCE has achieved significant change through the publication of Gaun Yersel', the Self Management Strategy for Scotland, campaigning to abolish prescription charges and amendments to the legislation signalling the integration of health and social care.
The ALLIANCE works in close partnership with the Scottish Government, politicians and others to drive policy on a range of issues including health and social care integration, self management, self-directed support, human rights and multiple conditions.
