Have your say on transparency and information rights across social care services

The ALLIANCE policy team is hosting a members-exclusive engagement session open to all members to gather insights that will inform the ALLIANCE’s response to an upcoming Scottish Government consultation on extending Freedom of Information law to care home and ‘care at home’ service providers.

The Scottish Government is seeking views on whether Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) rights should be extended to private and third sector organisation that deliver these services. The consultation invites stakeholder to share their views on whether making these providers directly subject to FOISA would enhance transparency and public access to information about these essential services.

It also seeks input on how any extension of FOI rights could be implemented in a proportionate and practical way, recognising the diversity of social care sector and ensuring that any new obligations do not place excessive burdens on providers or impact the delivery of high-quality care.

The session will take place on 26 February from 1.30pm until 3pm on Zoom.

To secure your place, please email membership@alliance-scotland.org.uk and let us know about any accessibility requirements.
