Provider perspectives on transparency and information rights across social care services

The ALLIANCE policy team is hosting a members-only engagement session specifically for members who provide care home and/or ‘care at home’ service. This session will focus on gathering provider perspectives to help inform the ALLIANCE’s response to the Scottish Government consultation on extending Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) rights to private and third sector organisations that deliver these services.

The consultation invites stakeholders to share their views on whether making providers directly subject to FOISA would enhance transparency and public access to information about these essential services.

It also seeks input on how any extension of FOI rights could be implemented in a proportionate and practical way, recognising the diversity of social care sector and ensuring that any new obligations do not place excessive burdens on providers or impact the delivery of high-quality care.

The session will take place on 24 February from 1.30pm until 3pm on Zoom.

To secure your place, please email membership@alliance-scotland.org.uk and let us know about any accessibility requirements.
