The independent review team is providing information on the final stage of its consultation on the future of the Mental Health Act.
The review is looking at whether this law needs to change for autistic people or people with learning disability.
The review team has now made a series of suggestions for the law (which are available in plain English and in easy read). They are now consulting relevant individuals and organisations about their views on these suggestions and will go on to make recommendations to the Minister for Mental Health in the Scottish Government.
The review team would like to meet with interested organisations in order to provide them with more information so that they are able to respond to the final consultation stage (which closes on 1 November 2019). The ALLIANCE is hosting this session to support engagement with our member organisations and individuals who may be interested in responding.
