SCVO and the ALLIANCE are co-hosting a consultation event on the Digital Health and Care Strategy Refresh.
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) are co-hosting this opportunity to engage with the Directorate for Digital Health and Care around the refresh of the Digital Health and Care Strategy.
About the event
COVID-19 has shown us that people are increasingly using digital tools to access services, including those for health and care. They also want and expect to have greater choice over how – and increasingly when – they access care.
Over the last year we have also learned a great deal about effective collaboration and delivering at pace using agile approaches. Accelerated progress has led to a greater understanding of the opportunities that digital can provide. The Scottish Government Digital Health and Care Directorate have also become increasingly aware of the importance of digital inclusion, accessibility, and options. They are therefore working on a refresh of the Digital Health and Care Strategy, first published in 2018, to reflect the developments in innovation and partnership working that COVID-19 has brought about.
How can the principles of the original strategy (empowering citizens to better manage their health and wellbeing, and the underpinning architectural and information governance building blocks, and workforce skills development to enable this) be embedded in the way our health and care systems work?
The third sector is a key partner, providing a range of innovative services which support the health and wellbeing of Scotland’s diverse citizens. This is an opportunity to engage with the Directorate for Digital Health and Care around these issues.
