The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety are holding an in-person taster session on personal safety at the Scottish Sensory Centre in Edinburgh.

The session aims to include advice about:

  • The Law regarding Self Defence
  • Reasonable Use of Force
  • Warning Signs and Danger Signs (so you can recognise when an attacker is about to attack before it happens)
  • Voice Control
  • Defensive Stance
  • The T-Zone (so you know where to effectively strike an attacker)

There will also be some practical self defence including how to use a mobility/symbol cane as an “improvised weapon” to aid your escape from an attacker.

This course is aimed at Habilitation Specialists and Assistants, Vision Rehabilitation Specialists and Teachers.

This taster session is free – registration is required. Book your place via this link.
