The event offers people the opportunity to learn about advances in science and helps scientists understand patients' experiences better.

ResearchTogether are hosting an event that brings together patients, researchers, clinicians, carers and charities to discuss recent research advancements as well as how to improve research targeting healthcare improvement in the future. The event will focus on conditions relevant to the attendees, allowing them to share knowledge and experiences.

The ResearchTogether is a project of lifETIME CDT, which is a partnership between the University of Glasgow, the University of Birmingham, Aston University and CÚRAM – Science Foundation Ireland. Their aim is to ensure their research is tailored to better support patients.

The event is free to attend, with travel expenses covered. The event programme will include talks about current research projects as well as talks from charities, researchers, and people with lived experience. An optional conference dinner with a murder mystery for entertainment will be held at 7pm, and all attendees are welcome to join.

Individuals living with or caring for someone with the following conditions are invited to attend:

  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Bone and Joint Damage
  • Nerve Damage
  • Brain Trauma and other conditions affecting the brain
  • Wounds and Burns
  • Heart Disease
  • Cancer
  • Stem Cell Therapies
  • Cancer (Liver, Bone, Skin, Breast, Blood)

By attending and participating in this event, you will have the opportunity to share your opinions and experiences which are hugely valuable to help train the new generation of scientists to continue improving healthcare research in the UK.
