Join the ALLIANCE and partners for a short, participatory event focused on the gender equality issue of carers.
The First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls (NACWG) was created in 2017 and is made up of 16 members from a wide range of backgrounds. Find out more information about the NACWG (this link will take you away from our website). The NACWG encourages people to come together in ‘Satellite Wee Circles’ and share their views on a Spotlight topic.
The theme we will be discussing on 18 December is the gender equality issue of Carers. This is the NACWG’s ‘Spotlight’ Topic for November/December 2019 (this link will take you away from our website).
Our event on 18 December 2019 will be highly participatory, and discussion will focus on three main questions:
- In Scotland, what are the biggest equality issues for women and girls with carer responsibilities?
- In Scotland, what needs to change to improve gender equality for unpaid carers?
- What actions should the NACWG recommend to improve gender equality for carers in Scotland?
Feedback from the event will help inform the NACWG’s work – including its reports to the First Minister – and provide an opportunity for us to learn from each other.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, and break out spaces are available.
