'Realistic Medicine - Supported Self Management Conference: Assembling the jigsaw together' as part of Self Management Week 2019
Keynote Speaker – Dr Catherine Calderwood, Chief Medical Officer
Grampian Self Management Network Scotland are delighted to announce that Dr Catherine Calderwood is to speak at the Realistic Medicine – Supported Self Management being held at Pittodrie Stadium in Aberdeen on Thursday 10 October 2019.
The principles of Realistic Medicine (this link will take you away from our website)– personalised care, shared decision making, reduced harm and waste, better risk management, improvement and innovation – are shared with those of Supported Self-Management. Both require fundamental shifts in perspective from health and social care systems, healthcare professionals, patients and their families. Both offer the promise of improved care and outcomes from greater patient involvement, and closer collaboration between health systems, communities and civic society. The conference will provide delegates the opportunity to:
- learn how agendas are being progressed in Grampian
- network with partners from multiple sectors
- develop confidence in skills relevant to supporting self-management
The conference is free to attend – details will follow shortly on how to register.
