This webinar will explore person-centred approaches in long-term care.

In 2022, WHO Europe published a policy brief titled “Rebuilding for Sustainability and Resilience: Strengthening the Integrated Delivery of Long-term Care in the European Region,” which outlined a conceptual framework for integrated long-term care (I-LTC) aimed at enhancing the resilience of long-term care systems across the region. The brief underscored the importance of strengthening care systems through better integration to improve efficiency, enhance resilience and sustainability in the aftermath of the pandemic, and promote the health and well-being of older populations by addressing their needs more effectively.

This webinar, hosted by the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC), invites participants to explore the current landscape of person-centred integrated care approaches in long-term care internationally. The speakers will present a series of short case studies from Europe, offering insights into policies and system-level interventions that have facilitated integration across health, social care, and community care. The session will also provide an opportunity to discuss the enablers and barriers to scaling up and sustaining these initiatives.
