This Masterclass focuses on the experiences of young people who access social care, transitioning between child and adult services.
The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) and MECOPP (the Minority Ethnic Carers of People Project) are partnering to deliver the ‘SDS Masterclass Series’ in 2018-19 – four events looking at different aspects of Self-directed Support. This second Masterclass focuses on the experiences of young people who access social care, transitioning between child and adult services.
This Masterclass will explore the main issues impacting young people’s experiences of SDS and transitioning between child and adult services. Hearing from young people and organisations working within the transitions framework (including ARC Scotland), the Masterclass will address current thinking on social care and its approach to transition. It will also provide an opportunity for delegates to discuss the potential for SDS to enable better transitions, why it might be failing to do so and what needs to change to improve young people’s experiences of transition.
There will be Electronic Note-takers and BSL / English Interpretation at this event.
