The Scottish Government is working with civil society to write a new National Action Plan for Open Government.
About open government
Scotland is a member of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) which aims to secure commitments from governments around the world to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
In 2016, Scotland developed the first OGP Scottish Action Plan (this link will take you away from our website). The Action Plan was developed in partnership with civil society to set out how to improve the lives of people living in Scotland, to learn from others, and to share experiences of Open Government. The first Action Plan was delivered over 2017. The second OGP Action Plan was published in January 2019 (this link will take you away from our website). It promotes trust and co-operation between government and civil society.
The Scottish Government is now looking to work with civil society to write a new Action Plan for Open Government. They are hosting five participation events in July, where a representative group of volunteers will be selected to help shape the new plan with their ideas and ambitions.
You can sign up for as many or as few of the events as you like. All events will be online and will last 2.5 hours. The calendar of events is:
