Join Tommy Whitelaw to learn about how to turn your own lived experience into your own campaign.

Are you trying to build your own campaign?

Join our ALLIANCE members event to hear about Tommy’s journey from being an unpaid carer for his mum Joan and starting a blog to share their experiences, to going on tour around Scotland to collect the stories and experiences of other unpaid carers, and being a champion of the #WhatMattersToYou movement in Scotland.

Tommy will also be joined by Shaun Maher, Strategic Advisor for Person Centred Care & Improvement at Scottish Government, who will discuss social movement theory and how this was applied to the incredible success of the national and international ‘What Matters To You?’ movements.

ALLIANCE members are recommended to take this opportunity to discuss, network, and ask questions around how to start your own campaign, and to develop your lived experience into activism.

This event will be held in person at the ALLIANCE offices on Wednesday 13 March 2024, 10am – 12pm and will include lunch (12pm – 1pm).

Please note that this event is a rescheduled event, originally listed for 5 December 2023. If you registered for the original date then your booking is still valid.
