Autism Initiatives were awarded £58,944.00 in June 2021 to run their project for 24 months.
The project, Perth One Stop Shop (OSS), will deliver the new two year Autism Self Management project in Angus and Dundee. A full time project coordinator will empower adults with autism to self manage their lifelong development condition and control anxiety responses, made considerably worse by COVID-19. Through an online programme (and face-to-face pop-up OSS alternatives) participants will discover how autism affects and influences their feelings and anxiety responses. Identifying and understanding personal triggers will enable coping strategies to be adopted and anxiety to be self managed. This will prevent participants mental health from needlessly deteriorating.
