Enable Scotland

Project status: On-going   Location: Scotland wide

Enable Scotland were awarded £60,000.00 in June 2021 to run their project for 24 months.

Scotland’s first digitally enabled national self management service uniquely designed with and for both people who have a learning disability themselves, and family carers, to have more control over their lives. Most national advocacy services focus on family carers. This innovative project will build on the experiences of the ‘invisible’ population of people who have learning disabilities not known to local authorities during COVID-19 to develop a national programme to empower individuals to access their rights to live the life they choose through accessible information, advice, digital group sessions with peers and subject experts, assertiveness training, skills to build local networks, and access to specialist advocacy and casework, regardless of location, age and status
