Forth Valley Sensory Centre were awarded £5,000.00 in June 2021 to run their project for 12 months.
Young people with sight impairments are five times more likely to be unemployed than their sighted peers, even with the same level of qualifications. Forth Valley Sensory Centre do not think that is right. They will work with employers and young people on the technology and support available to release their potential. Forth Valley Sensory Centre also realise that age related sight or hearing loss can dramatically affect a person in the workplace. They want to ensure employers properly support staff and stay within the law (Equality Act 2010) to make reasonable adjustments for staff with sensory problems.
