Haemophilia Scotland

Project status: on-going Location: Scotland wide

Haemophilia Scotland were awarded £27,937.00 in October 2019 for an 18 month programme.

To create a three-strand approach to bringing more relevant information and support for people living with a blood disorder, particularly around staying active to prevent further joint damage and pain. This will include developing a suite of printed and online materials, establishing Champion volunteers across each of the health board areas who will act as signposters for local and community support (this would be broad and available to everyone), as well as providing physiotherapy clinics aimed to encourage people to take a more active role in their health and stay active to prevent bleeds (this will be available for approx. 50-60 people), and gym memberships will also be available for people as part of this (as this is more specialised this will be available for about 5-12 people)
