North East Sensory Service were awarded £58,288.00 in June 2021 to run their project for 24 months.

North East Sensory Service’s original Connect, Include and Support (CIS) project supports socially isolated, elderly people with a significant visual and/or hearing impairment.  North East Sensory Service have identified that many are not digitally connected, reducing their independence and confidence in an increasingly online society.  They will work with candidates to encourage their participation and pinpoint its relevance to them, through discussion of their needs, wants and interests.  They will facilitate digital connection and support them to acquire the equipment and skills they need to participate online, with the aim of increasing agency, improving emotional wellbeing, and enhancing effective self management of their sensory loss.
