Voluntary Action Orkney were awarded £59,807.00 in June 2021 to run their project for 24 months.
To create a virtual self management group for residents of Orkney’s non-linked isles living with long term conditions. The group will meet fortnightly and will, in its initial phase, consist of three elements; an educational talk, the opportunity to learn a new self management mechanism, and facilitated peer support. The group will focus on broad interventions that support people to feel more in control and less stressed, and will be open to those with any long term condition. Voluntary Action Orkney wants to involve those they support, so after six months they are going to invite participants to redesign the format of the group.
