The Scottish Food Coalition is urging people to have their say on Scotland's 'Good Food Nation' proposals.

The coalition – a diverse group of civil society organisations including the ALLIANCE – has launched an e-action to support people to get involved in this Scottish Government consultation.

The consultation asks for views on what should be included in a new law for Scotland’s food system.

The Scottish Food Coalition is encouraged by some of the proposals but feels that they need to go further.

They are campaigning for a Good Food Nation Bill with a statutory right to food at its heart so joined-up policy making can ensure everyone has reliable access to healthy sustainable food for themselves and their families.

The coalition is also pressing for the establishment of a statutory Scottish Food Commission to drive the necessary change towards a fairer, healthier, and more environmentally friendly food system.

The consultation is an opportunity for the Scottish public to let the Scottish Government know what changes they would like to see to the food system. To support this, the SFC have created an online tool, channelling responses directly to Scottish Government.
