Mark Kelvin, former Director of the ALLIANCE’s Links Worker Programme, provides an overview into the crucial role the programme plays in enhancing community health in Scotland. Learn more about the impact Links Workers on individuals and communities, as Mark shares stories and insights. Currently, there’s a growing concern that this programme is at risk due to potential funding cuts. We touch on the broader context of healthcare disparities, the program’s core objectives, and why it’s vital to preserve it.
This is a recording of an event from Self Management Week 2023, called ‘The Benefits of Nature Connection for Wellbeing’, delivered by Jan Cafearo from Feelgood Forest Bathing. Jan lives in the UK and has a passion for improving and maintaining our health and wellbeing through simple, natural means. She runs online courses in connecting with nature for wellbeing and a holistic therapy clinic.
A webinar called ‘Courage, confidence and collaboration: supporting self management in health professionals’ practice’, delivered by Professor Lisa Kidd, Professor of Nursing at Glasgow Caledonian University. Lisa’s work focusses on how to help health professionals to understand, implement and embed person centred self management support into their practice and the contexts that enable or hinder this to happen. Her research has so far informed stroke education and training, as well as underpinning and supporting the implementation of the Scottish Government’s new Progressive Stroke Pathway.
This workshop will introduce you to some digital tools and resources for health and wellbeing. Find out what is free and available and how to access it. For example, a trusted app that helps with insomnia and a clinically proven course that helps with stress.
