ALLIANCE member views sought on our draft ICESCR ‘parallel’ report

We want to hear from members about our draft report to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights about rights in Scotland.
The UK and Scottish Governments must regularly report to a United Nations Committee about what actions they are doing to ensure that the rights in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) are respected, protected and fulfilled.
The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights will meet UK and Scottish Government representatives to discuss this in February 2025.
As part of the process, civil society organisations are also allowed to submit reports. These can include information about pressing human rights issues and recommend what questions the Committee should ask the UK and Scottish Government representatives.
In December 2022, we submitted an earlier report to the Committee, and we can now submit an update report.
The draft update report is available via the link below. We welcome our members’ feedback and if you have any please email them to policy@alliance-scotland.org.uk before 16 December 2024. (Please note that there is a 10-page limit set by the UN for these reports).
If you want to discuss the report please email lucy.mulvagh@alliance-scotland.org.uk.
End of page.
