ALLIANCE members Alzheimer Scotland are taking part in the Alzheimer Europe Carer Survey 2017 (this link will take you away from this website) and are inviting people to get involved.
The survey is for people who are currently supporting a family member or friend who has received a diagnosis of dementia. The survey looks at various aspects of people’s experience, including what factors encouraged the carer and/or their partner to seek help; the diagnosis experience and opinions on post-diagnostic support.
The survey will be open to participants in Scotland, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland and Netherlands. The countries were selected based on their varying levels of policy development, with Scotland identified as having progressive dementia policies and strategies in place. The survey will help build understanding of the diagnostic and post-diagnostic experience from the carers’ perspective and help identify where support and processes could be improved.
The online survey is being administered by Bangor University and all answers will be treated in the strictest confidence.  No third parties, including Bangor University, will have access to personal details.
A paper copy of the survey is also available by emailing publicpolicy@alzscot.org or telephoning the Helpline 0808 808 3000.
