The successful applicant for the four year appointment will need to be available for two to four days work each month.
Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) are currently looking to appoint a board member with experience of healthcare, social care and/or housing. The role of HIS is to ensure that the people of Scotland experience the best quality health and care services, and that improvements in care are informed by the people affected.
If successfully appointed, board members are expected to be able to commit to between two and four days a month (for a maximum of 48 per year) on Board business. This business may include daytime meetings of the board and/or committees, development and strategy days, and reading documents. Board member remuneration is £170.03 per day, plus travel, dependant carer costs and reasonable business expenses.
The role typically requires a number of physical meetings and events, though due to the COVID-19 pandemic most current work is conducted virtually. HIS expect that, when it is safe to do so, there will be a blend of virtual and physical meetings, and being able to physically attend meetings will be required to carry out the full range of Board activities.
The closing date for applications is midday on the 30th of April 2021. Interviews for the role will be held on the 15th and 18th of June 2021.
