The ALLIANCE has signed a Human Rights Consortium Scotland letter to the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon MSP.
The letter, signed by 10 Scottish civil society organisations, welcomes recommendations to incorporate UN treaty rights and standards directly into Scots law.
This recommendation was made earlier this year by an advisory group set up by the First Minister on how Scotland can lead by example in the field of human rights.
The letter outlines a desire for human rights law that is strong, effective and includes economic, social and environmental rights.
It calls for a National Taskforce with people with expertise in participation and senior figures from public bodies, to make sure that the law is implemented effectively.
