The ALLIANCE has submitted a response to the Health and Sport Committee's inquiry into the future delivery of social care in Scotland.
Following closures of residential care facilities and general funding issues with independent, voluntary and council run facilities, the Health and Sport Committee has agreed to undertake an inquiry into social care for adults over 18 years. They want to explore the future delivery of social care in Scotland and what is required to meet future needs.
The ALLIANCE’s response was based on the feedback provided by members, and informed by the results of research into people’s experiences of social care in Scotland (‘My Support My Choice: Users’ Experiences of Self-directed Support in Scotland‘). ‘My Support My Choice’ is a joint project between the ALLIANCE and Self Directed Support Scotland, funded by the Scottish Government.
