Dementia Carer Voices are delighted to have been invited to attend the upcoming Health and Care Innovation Expo on the 5 and 6 September

As a part of our ongoing partnership work with Professor Jane Cummings (the Chief Nursing Officer for England), our UK Lead Tommy Whitelaw will represent the Dementia Carer Voices project at the two-day event.

We have worked closely with Jane in the past promoting Leading Change Adding Value, A Framework for Nursing, Midwifery and Care Staff. Tommy will be taking part in a dedicated Leading Change, Adding Value theatre session – the principles of which we share at each of our talks across England.

The session will showcase the work and leadership of nursing, midwifery and care staff. It will touch on the recently published Leading Change, Adding Value ‘Atlas of Shared Learning,’ which will have shared over 200 case studies by the end of March 2019, and highlight how far and wide the e-learning tool has been used and adopted as part of everyday training and development.

The session will include a focus on three case studies, demonstrating how nursing, midwifery and care staff have led large scale change, including at board level.

Tommy will be joined by Susan Aitkenhead (Director of Nursing and Professional Development for NHS England) and Joanne Bosanquet (Deputy Chief Nurse for Public Health England).

You can read more about the upcoming event on the NHS England website (this link will take you away from our website).

Tommy is looking forward to speaking about the Leading Change Adding Value framework, as well as the work the Dementia Carer Voices team is currently engaged in:

‘I’d like to thank Susan Aitkenhead for this incredible opportunity to share a platform and share our work together on Leading Change, Adding Value. We are very grateful for this wonderful opportunity!’
