The ALLIANCE is celebrating Employability Day 2019 #Empday19
The ALLIANCE is one of the thousands of organisations across the UK joining in on the fourth UK Employability Day which will take place in the 28 June 2019. The day is an opportunity for employment support organisations and employers to celebrate their hard work supporting people to enter or progress in employability. It allows them to shout about their success and drive understanding across key stakeholders at local, regional and national level.
We will be joining in the celebrations by sharing some of the experiences and successes of our membership, as well as sharing their readiness to embrace the challenges ahead. We are using the day as a platform to showcase the importance of employability support for social inclusion and productivity, from the perspective of the individual and organisation.
This year’s theme is Closing the Gaps. We want to highlight the ongoing efforts of organisations across Scotland who help to close the employment gaps by supporting disadvantaged groups to enter, sustain or progress in work. For our membership we are increasingly proud of their commitment to increase the capacity among disabled people, people living with long term conditions and unpaid carers to access, and maintain jobs, using self management as a tool/ approach to achieve this.
On Friday 28 June, we will be sharing the learning and good practice throughout the day via our @ALLIANCEScot twitter account. We would welcome any sharing to help us spread the word of the excellent work of our membership using #Empday19.
Furthermore, our Self Management and Employability Award is currently open for nominations. Please be inspired by #Empday19 to nominate an individual, organisation or employer who deserves recognition for their values of self management within employability.
