Our UK Lead Tommy Whitelaw represented the Dementia Carer Voices project at the event last week in Brussels

30 people representing health and social care organisations from countries across Europe attended the European Patients Forum’s two-day hackathon where participants worked in cross-functional teams with mentors to find innovative solutions to common challenges in the field of advocacy.

Participants were broken into groups and given the task of developing their own advocacy campaign. Our UK Lead Tommy Whitelaw’s team decided to campaign for greater support for young people living with long term conditions, raising awareness to eliminate discrimination in the workplace. Tommy’s team won both Best Workstream and Best Presentation during this exercise.

This seminar offered the Dementia Carer Voices project the opportunity to connect with representatives from organisations across Europe, sharing what we have learned from our 20,000 pledges to make a difference.
