Equalities impacts of key COVID-19 guidance outlined

Type: News Item Date Published: 30th July 2020

The Scottish Government has considered the equalities impact of key frameworks which guide decision making around Coronavirus care.

The Scottish Government has released an updated set of advice papers to guide clinical and ethical decision making in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Importantly, it has also published an Equality Impact Assessment of both of these papers.

This looks at whether the measures associated with the new guidance could have disproportionate impacts on individuals or groups protected under the Equality Act 2010.

This is a welcome step, and was an action that the ALLIANCE had called for when the first set of guidance papers was originally published earlier this year.
