In our latest ALLIANCE Live, Blythe Robertson (General Manager Policy and Partnerships, NDS) discusses the COVID-19 SMS shielding service.

On the 16th June, the ALLIANCE interviewed Blythe Robertson, General Manager of Policy and Partnerships at NHS Education for Scotland’s Digital Service (NDS).

The conversation focused on the COVID-19 text message shielding service. This service was developed by NDS to help get groceries, medicines and essential information delivered to people across Scotland during the pandemic.

In the interview, Blythe covered the development of the service and the reasoning behind choosing SMS over digital. He also speaks about the importance of equality and diversity considerations, overcoming data challenges and what their plans are for the future, as we’re starting to come out of lockdown and move towards more complicated messaging.
