Type: News Item Date Published: 28th March 2018

A paper focusing on third and independent sectors engagement in integration, making key recommendations for future action.

Following a request from the Ministerial Strategy Group for Health and Community Care, a paper focusing on Third and Independent Sectors’ Engagement with Health and Social Care Integration was drafted by Nancy Fancott, CCPS Policy & Development Officer in close collaboration with SCVO, the ALLIANCE, the Third Sector Health and Social Care Collaborative and Scottish Care.

A number of organisations kindly shared their experience, which helped shape the outline of the paper as well as the key recommendations.

The purpose of the paper is to facilitate an assessment of the level and quality of engagement in order to ensure full use is made of third sector and independent sector contributions for the benefit of the people who use health and/or social care services.

The paper concludes with a series of recommendations for action by the MSG and other stakeholders.
