Organisation surpasses milestone of 18,000 members.
New members are being invited to join the NHS Credit Union, the organisation set up to care for the finances of health staff across the country.
A membership drive is under way, starting in Fife, with Credit Union staff undertaking a number of site visits to local hospitals and health centres. Supported by UNISON and the internal communications team at NHS Fife, the campaign resulted in a 63% membership increase in the area.
Membership of the organisation, which last year celebrated its 20th anniversary, is open to NHS Employees in Scotland and North England and their families living at the same address. It offers its members “a secure home for savings, affordable, ethical loans …and a whole lot more”.
The body recently appointed a new Chief Executive, with Ruth Dorman joining the organisation following her previous CEO role at Deafblind Scotland.
Commenting on her new role, Ruth said: “I knew I was joining a successful organisation – and the success of our new mobile banking app and the Fife campaign certainly shows we are moving in the right direction.”
“I look forward to welcoming more members into our financial family and continuing to help care for the financial welfare of NHS staff from Shetland to Sheffield.
