Two new e-learning modules will help providers to understand and navigate the NHS video calls service 'Near Me'.

Near Me is a web-based system that helps public sector providers offer video call access to
their services. It is provided to public service organisations free of charge. It aims to provide the people of Scotland with the choice to attend health, care and other appointments via video call where appropriate.

The new e-modules include two different levels depending on a person’s experience with Near Me.

The first module is for service providers and students who are new to Near Me or require a refresher. It covers why, where, and when to use Near Me and includes information on building ‘digital rapport’. A concept which is about building a meaningful relationship with clients when using a digital space. Access ‘Module 1: New to Near Me Video Calls?’ here.

The second module is for those who are already familiar with Near Me and want to learn more. It covers communication and preparation skills and gives hints and tips on digital warmth and rapport. Access ‘Module 2: Near Me: Video Consultation Skills’ here.

More information and learning resources for staff on Near Me can be found here.
