Dementia Carer Voices are delighted to announce we will be working with Glasgow City HSCP on a series of talks beginning in March.

We would like to thank Gordon Bryan, Jill Scoular and Julia Donaldson for inviting us to spend a week engaging with care at home staff from Monday 18 March onwards.

Our UK Project Lead Tommy Whitelaw will be speaking with staff from teams across Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (this link will take you away from our website) – including home carers, coordinators, call handlers, technicians and drivers.

Each talk will be adapted to fit each particular audience, asking different groups of staff to consider what matters to the people in their care. Multiple talks will take place throughout the week, including extra sessions after 5pm and at the weekend to fit around staff’s busy schedules.

The Partnership have an incredible outreach, with staff caring for thousands of people across Glasgow.

We’re honoured to be able to use this network to share the findings of our You Can Make A Difference campaign, introduce the principles of intelligent kindness and promote wider work that has been undertaken by the ALLIANCE.

Two questions will be asked at sessions:

  • What will you do now to make a difference?
  • And what would support you in your workplace to make a difference?

Findings from this series of talks will then potentially feed into an impact report.

The Dementia Carer Voices team are excited to get started and meet with care at home staff across Glasgow!
