The ALLIANCE and Scottish Government have produced several resources on polycystic ovary syndrome, in support of the Women's Health Plan.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects how your ovaries work. During ovulation, an egg is released once a month. PCOS can have an impact on this and cause irregular ovulation, or no ovulation at all. PCOS can have an effect on fertility, metabolism, hair growth and your menstrual cycle. For more information see NHS Inform.

PCOS is a common, and a commonly misunderstood, condition. Therefore to support better awareness the ALLIANCE has produced a number of resources. These have been produced with the Scottish Government, as part of our programme of work supporting the Women’s Health Plan, and with contributions from Professor Colin Duncan from the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Reproductive Health.
