Scottish Procurement is inviting information on the Scottish Government's procurement process for social security advocacy support.
Section 10 of the Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018 (this link will take you away from our website) requires that Scottish Ministers should ensure that advocacy support is available to individuals who, if owing to a disability, require such support to help them engage effectively with the process for determining entitlement to assistance through the Scottish social security system.
In advance of the procurement process, Scottish Procurement have noted that they would value hearing from potential suppliers (this link will take you away from our website) on the structure of advocacy provision (which will begin on 1 April 2020). Information provided in response to this request will be used in the development of the procurement strategy for the Provision of an Advocacy Service for the Scottish Social Security system.
Responses should be returned by no later than 14:00 on 30 April 2019.
