Reference Group on Chronic Pain expressions of interest

Section: The ALLIANCEPeople and NetworksType: News Item Date Published: 6th February 2020

The ALLIANCE is looking for expressions of interest from people who would like to join the Chronic Pain Reference Group.

The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The ALLIANCE) is setting up a reference group for people with lived experience of chronic pain to support and inform the improvement of Chronic Pain Management in Scotland.

As an initial step we are inviting individuals and organisations with an interest to come together to shape the focus and aims of the group.  The reference group will be able to use their lived experience:

  • To help facilitate co-production of current care provision for chronic pain services in Scotland;
  • To raise awareness and maintain the profile of the Chronic Pain agenda;
  • To identify and promote examples of good practice;
  • To inform the Scottish Government and other forums relevant to chronic pain such as the National Advisory Committee on Chronic Pain and the Short Life Working Group on Prescription Drug Dependence.

The group will be able to nominate two members to sit on the National Advisory Committee on Chronic Pain going forward.  We will also be recruiting members for an Advisory Group of interested stakeholders who will oversee the work programme for the project.

This initial meeting will be held on Thursday 27 February 2020 at the ALLIANCE`s Offices
349 Bath Street
Glasgow
G2 4AA
