New report calls for individuals’ rights to be safeguarded in the wake of the vote to leave the European Union.

Civil society organisations, including the ALLIANCE, have published a new report (This link will take you away from our website) calling for individuals’ rights to be safeguarded in the wake of the vote to leave the European Union.

As the Prime Minister Theresa May prepares to “trigger Article 50” which will begin the formal renegotiation of the UK’s relationship with the European Union, the Human Rights Consortium Scotland has published which brings together experts from 12 different civil society organisations to outline the potential impacts on rights in Scotland of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union.

The publication includes a section written by ALLIANCE Director Lucy Mulvagh who writes that our members “expect there to be a long-term impact” with particular reference to the rights of people who work in social care who come from across the EU, the financial implications for third sector organisations of leaving the EU and the impact on medicines development in Scotland.
