Read the response from the Scottish Government to an open letter urging political leaders to kick-start a series of fairer tax reforms.

The ALLIANCE added our signature to support an open letter to Scottish Party Leaders which highlighted that social investment within Scotland is insufficient and urged the government to develop a clear consensus on tax reform.

The Scottish Government have published their response to this letter, in which party leaders address these concerns and commit to using their limited devolved taxation powers to developing the best taxation system possible. They bring attention to the commitment made by the Deputy First Minister to publishing an update to their Strategic Approach to Tax alongside their Medium Term Financial Strategy this year.
