Scottish mental health law review – consultation now live

Type: News Item Date Published: 4th February 2020

An independent review in to Scotland's mental health laws has opened a 12 week consultation.

The process, being led by John Scott QC, is looking to hear people’s experiences of and views on current mental health laws in this country. The closing date for the consultation is 24 April.

A new website has been developed for the review (this link will take you away from our website).

The website has been designed so that people can see what stage the review is in (currently phase 1) as well as hosting relevant documentation about the review.
All future announcements relating to the review will also be posted on this website.

As the review moves forward the website will be updated and will include details about the work of the advisory groups which are already up and running, as well as those which will come on-line shortly. It will also be able to incorporate blogs, videos etc. as well as publicising upcoming events including those which will be delivered by various partners.

There is also a facility for people to contact the review team.

Access the consultation on the Scottish Government website (this link will take you away from our website).
