Update for Self Management Funded Projects (COVID-19)

Section: Self Management and Co-Production HubType: News Item Date Published: 16th March 2020

Message from Ian Welsh, Chief Executive of the ALLIANCE, regarding the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 and Self Management Fund grant holders.

Reassuring Self Management grant holders that we will continue to support and emphasizing that our priority is continuing to care for those most vulnerable in our communities.

The most important thing to us is the health and safety of our grant holders and the people that you work with. This is a time for working together to ensure we continue to care for those most vulnerable in our communities.

This is a difficult and unsettling time. The ALLIANCE offices remain open and we are closely monitoring updates from the NHS. If this is to change, we have organisational capacity to continue working remotely and so will be here to support you.

However, we understand that the current situation will have a different impact on organisations delivering services in communities. There may be delays to the work you plan to carry out or increased demands in other areas of your service. We would ask that you continue to follow the latest guidance from the NHS and carry out your own risk assessment when planning any events or activities. More information is avaliable from NHS Scotland (This link will take you away from our website)..

We want to reassure the projects currently in receipt of a grant from the Self Management Fund:

  • The next instalment of your grant will be paid on time, subject to the submission of relevant paperwork.
  • The Learning Days on 2 and 7 April 2020 for projects funded from October 2019 are cancelled.
  • Deadlines for submission of written reports through either the harmonised reporting process or the pre-event questionnaire still stand.

As this situation continues to develop, we do not yet know the full extent of the impact this will have on our work and daily lives. Please be assured that we will listen to your experiences as an organisation and we aim to respond to this situation compassionately and with the wider interests of our communities at the centre of our decision-making.
