Spin for Smart Works is back for International Women’s Day 2019 and encourages people to team up and spin.
Smart Works primary purpose is to help women into employment by providing them with interview clothes and interview training. They are delighted to say that almost 70% of the women they help go on to get the job. The value of the service has been endorsed recently and the Duchess of Sussex has become their Royal Patron.
Almost all of their funding is raised by own efforts. Last year they managed to raise nearly £4000 in the Spin Challenge which helped them support nearly 70 women into employment in Scotland. They would like to reach out and support even more women in 2019 and with your help, they can.
In teams of five, join the Smart Works Spin Challenge by pedalling 500 miles within one week. They don’t mind how you divide the mile challenge. They’ll be starting on 1 March and speeding through to the finish line on International Women’s Day on 8 March 2019.
You can do the challenge by road bike, spin bike, gym bike – any bike you like. Get sponsored and your total will make a real difference in transforming the lives of unemployed women here in Scotland. You will be part of a much wider team taking part across the UK and the competition is fierce.
So pedal with purpose, join in the fun and see what difference you can make in 2019.
If you don’t feel up to the physical challenge, you can support by making a donation. For more details, on signing up or making a donation please go to www.smartworks.org.uk/spin-smart-works.
