'Your Police 2021-2022' survey is now available in British Sign Language.

Police Scotland wants to know and understand the views of Scotland’s diverse communities. Your Police 2021-2022 survey is now live on their Engagement Hub (Citizen Space) (this link will take you away from our website) in both standard and British Sign Language (BSL) versions. Police Scotland is inviting anyone living in Scotland to take part and the survey is open all year. It asks about your experiences of feeling safe in your community and what you think about the police. The survey also aims to help Police Scotland understand more about your experiences of interacting with your police service.

How Police Scotland used Your Police BSL survey in 2020-2021

Police Scotland received 278 responses to the British Sign Language version of Your Police 2020-2021 survey. They are delighted with this response from Scotland’s BSL communities and are already acting on what respondents have told them. Last year Police Scotland used insight from the BSL version of Your Police to shape our input to local policing briefings so that Police Officers, Staff and Special Constables were able to adapt and respond to people’s needs in inclusive ways. They are also developing ways to integrate more BSL options when interacting with Police Scotland. The Public Confidence Governance Board are implementing ways which Police Scotland can make their progressive approach part of their ‘business as usual’ for interacting with Scotland’s diverse communities.

Police Scotland’s Engagement Hub is hosted on Citizen Space by Delib and meets AAA accessibility standards.
