Starting out..... Links Worker Programme Administrator

Hello, let me introduce myself.  My name is June Nye and I’ve been in my new post as the Links Worker Programme Administrator for just over 4 weeks.  I am delighted to have been offered the opportunity to work with the ALLIANCE, an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people living with long term conditions and their carers, a subject close to my own heart as I’m sure it is to many others.  I’m especially happy to have joined the Links Worker Programme which will support people within their communities through communication with their GP practices and the Links Practitioners.

There’s obviously been a great deal of preparatory work from those involved with the development of the Links Programme and since starting my new role I’ve been immersed in carrying out the administration of the most recent stage which has been the recruitment of 8 new team members and the selection of the GP practices, a process I was very happy to be involved in when asked to make random selection of the practices. This now means that the Link Workers can be associated with the individual GP practices and then it’s on to the next stage of the Programme which will see the recruitment of the Evaluation and Monitoring Officer and the inductions of all the new team members to the Link Programme.

It’s particularly exciting joining the Links Programme at this early stage and I’m really looking forward to seeing the project develop further as the GP practices and Link Practitioners consolidate to become a tangible and invaluable resource for patients. My own role is going to expand considerably as the Programme develops and becomes established in the communities, and although this is my first foray into the world of the Blog, I’ll do my best to keep you updated here.

Thank You
