Introducing Roseann Logan, Community Links Manager, in the latest of our staff introduction series.
This week it’s Roseann Logan, Community Links Manager in the Introducing ALLIANCE Staff series.
In 140 characters, what is your role at the ALLIANCE?
My role is Community Links Manager, part of the Links Worker Programme and I am based at the Venlaw. I line manage the 7 Community Links Practitioners who are based out in GP surgeries across Glasgow.
I originally came over to the ALLIANCE on a secondment from SAMH where I had worked for 15 years in various management roles across Glasgow setting up new services from mental health to alcohol related brain damage, registered care homes to housing support services. I worked with 2 other third sector organisations before that, setting up new community services having previously qualified as a mental health nurse (I know I don’t look old enough…)
Biggest learning experience in current or previous role?
Gosh, there have been so many learning experiences, everhday is a school day and that is what I have loved about all my roles as there have always been opportunities to learn and grow. I suppose the biggest one was early in my career when I was still a nursing student and it was listen, as simple as that; take the time and listen to what the person you are with has to say and that has stayed with me, we all have our own stories and each one is as important as the next.
Twitter, Facebook or Instagram?
Twitter for work, although I am more of a re-tweeter. Facebook for personal catch ups and being nosey and not allowed on Instagram (orders of my oldest daughter!)
In my spare time I like to…
I love spending time with my family (especially my husband and 2 girls, Olivia who is 14 and Jorja who is 9) and friends, whether it is hanging out at someone’s house, going out for dinner or going away for the day with a picnic, umbrellas (well, we do live in Scotland!) and the dog, can’t forget Cruz!
I also like to read, sing and watch 24 hours in A&E – not in that order.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was wee I wanted to be a fairy and my dream came true when I got to play Fairy Nuff (in my 20’s) in an Am Dram panto called the Land of Fairy Nuff (nuff said about that…)
Trade places with someone for 1 day, who would it be?
Oh it has to be Madonna in the early 80’s, preferably a day when she was filming one of her videos. I used to love singing along in my bedroom with the hairbrush and wished I could be as cool as her.
Planes, trains or automobiles?
I love travelling by plane as it usually means I am going on holiday, and I do love going on holiday.
