Tommy is next up in our series of ALLIANCE staff introductions.

In 140 characters, what is your role at the ALLIANCE?

Project Engagement Lead at the Dementia Carer Voices project.

Previous Experience

I was a full time carer for my wonderful mum Joan from 2007 till 2012 – previous to that I worked in the music industry as a tour manager and then global merchandiser.

Biggest learning experience in current or previous role?

That people are amazing, kind and caring and if you take a little time to listen to their story you soon find out how unique and amazing people are and that everyone has a story to tell.

Twitter, Facebook or Instagram?

Twitter. I spend far too much time on Twitter.

In my spare time I like…

Walking. I am trying to walk more, really helps clear my mind and I am trying to get a wee bit healthier. I also want to learn to knit before my team mate Laura.

When you were younger what did you want to be when you grew up?

It’s the obvious answer I think – I wanted to play football but I was never quite good enough.

Planes, trains or automobiles?

Trains…has to be trains. I have been on a wee tour for the past two years around the country speaking about the project and caring for my mum so every new day has been a new train journey.
