The ALLIANCE’s response: Children’s Rights: Consultation on incorporating the UNCRC into our domestic law in Scotland
- Area of Work:
- Type: Resource
The ALLIANCE has responded to the Scottish Government's United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child consultation.
The Scottish Government has sought views on how best to incorporate ‘gold standard’ for children’s rights into domestic law and improve the lives of children and young people. In response to the Scottish Government’s call for responses to their consultation, closing date 28 August 2019, the ALLIANCE has submitted a response.
To inform the submission, we consulted with our members, the third sector, and members of the public during two events on 8 July 2019 and 11 July 2019. Views expressed included:
- Support for immediate and full incorporation
- Clear and accessible pathways towards redress
- The need for a diverse children and young person’s advisory group
As always, the ALLIANCE welcomes your feedback. If you would like to share your thoughts on our response, or have any inquiries, please feel free to contact:
