Lewis Shaw

Lewis works alongside other members of the Sensory Hub to ensure that lived experience is at the heart of decision-making.

Lewis regularly engages with external organisations within the sensory sector and attends meetings to ensure that the views of those with lived experience are considered and engaged with. He also collaborates with other departments within the ALLIANCE, such as the policy team. He works to promote equality, inclusivity and fairness for everyone, particularly those with visual impairments. Lewis uses his own lived experience as a blind person to guide his work and actions.

Previously, Lewis worked in a community facility that supports disabled young people to develop employability skills and support them to move forward. This has strengthened his belief that everyone can contribute to society with the right support. Lewis wants to ensure that everyone is listened to and always valued.
