The Children and Young People Community of Practice launched in June 2023. Find out more information and how to get involved.

The new Children and Young People, Community of Practice (CoP) has been created to provide a safe space for individuals working across the sector to come together to share promising practice, opportunities and learning and importantly to network with each other.

The CoP will be designed for and by its members with the ALLIANCE providing administrative support. At our launch event in June, members discussed the vision for the CoP. The below vision statement is in draft form and will be defined at future meetings:

“The Children and Young People Community of Practice is a safe space to bring together professionals and volunteers within the children and young people sector with a shared interest, respecting individual views, values and ideas. A space to learn, collaborative and network with one another. A social movement to help drive positive change for the benefit of children and young people and improve support and services.

We are keen for the Community of Practice to continually grow and welcome people to get involved.”

Membership of the CoP is fluid, we are aware of members own work priorities and fluctuating capacity. The CoP currently plans to meet for two hours, each quarter with the next event planned for Thursday 7th December, 10am – 12pm online. The session plan will be worked on with members who are able to provide time to plan the event.

If you wish to become a member of the CoP, please let our team know by emailing GIRFEC@alliance-scotland.org.uk. You will then be invited to join our MS Teams space and receive all future information.
